? DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BREED CLUB SHOWS AND RSCE SHOWS
TYPE OF SHOW
BREED CLUB – CEDDA (Spanish Great Dane Club)

These events are organized by the official breed club dedicated to a single breed — in this case, the Great Dane (CEDDA).
Their main purpose is to promote, preserve, and improve the breed.

They are usually called Monographic Shows or Club Shows, and can be:

National Monographic Show – officially recognized by the RSCE if authorized.

Special, Regional, or Club Shows –, recognized only by the club itself.

Some of these events include Club Championships, such as:

Club Champion, CEDDA Cup Champion, Breeders League Champion

National Breed Club Shows are very important events for breeders. They gather a large number of entries, showing the best examples of the breed with the aim of obtaining the prestigious Club Champion title.

Among them, the Nationale d’Élevage – Neuvic (French Great Dane Club) stands out for its high participation and excellent organization. It has become a true meeting point for Great Dane lovers, attracting around 400 dogs every year.
These shows are a perfect opportunity for breeders to share their work, enjoy the high level of competition, and select future stud dogs to continue improving their breeding lines and maintaining the excellence of the breed.

RSCE (Real Sociedad Canina de España)

The RSCE is the national canine organization officially recognized by the FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale).
Its shows are official events, valid both nationally and internationally.

At RSCE shows, official certificates and titles are awarded:

CAC (Certificado de Aptitud al Campeonato) – Certificate for the Spanish Championship.

CACIB (Certificat d’Aptitude au Championnat International de Beauté) – International title awarded by the FCI.

BOS (Best of Opposite Sex) – Best dog of the opposite sex to the BOB.

BOB (Best of Breed) – Best dog among all Great Danes entered.

BIS (Best in Show) – Overall best dog of the entire event.

JUDGES
Breed Club

The Breed Club may invite specialist judges, often international experts who are deeply knowledgeable about the Great Dane standard.
At major monographic shows, these judges are usually highly experienced breeders or recognized authorities on the breed.

RSCE

RSCE show results are valid for national and international championships.
Judges are official RSCE/FCI judges, and for international shows they must hold an FCI license.

ATMOSPHERE AND OBJECTIVE
Breed Club Shows

They have a more familiar and technical atmosphere, focused on a detailed evaluation of the breed.
These shows are an ideal setting for breeders and enthusiasts to learn, exchange experiences, and share knowledge about the Great Dane.

RSCE Shows

They are larger and more competitive events, featuring many different breeds.
The main goal is to earn official points and titles toward national and international championships.
